There is also reaction from captain Virgil van Dijk who says he is calm about his future despite entering the final year of his contract. Arne Slot gives his postmatch thoughts and praised the defensive performance and felt Brentford could not cope with Liverpool as the game progressed. Thomas Frank also conceded that Liverpool were the better team and deserved the win.There was controversy in the earlier game between Bournemouth and Newcastle as Dango Ouattara’s injury-time winner was ruled out for handball and Carra labeled the decision as ‘terrible’ saying that there is no way the VAR can factually determine it comes off Ouattara’s arm.
