In the 2002 Olympics he missed the bronze medal by .01 points. Giacomo went  on tho represent Italy again  in 2006 at the Olympics in Italy, representing in front of his hometown crowd - who went nuts every time he dropped in.    Giacomo’s career, cut short by injury forced to to reinvent himself, this time as a coach.
