Cyclone Freddy was a deadly storm lasting for five weeks starting February 2023 and is both the longest-lasting and highest-ACE-producing tropical cyclone ever recorded worldwide. The cyclone hit Malawi, along with Mozambique, Madagascar, South Africa and Zimbabwe.In Malawi alone, at least 1,200 people were killed by the cyclone, with many others still meeting.
