Continuing on the themes of Women's History Month, this episode zooms into the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Jordan and explores how women fare. Do they face more barriers because of their gender? Are there policies in place to facilitate access to finance for women, or mentorship programs to help them start a business and hence grow it?Merissa Khurma spoke with Reem Badran, a Jordanian trailblazer who recently won a prestigious award as one of the world’s most successful women in business from The International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge Foundation in New York. Reem was also an elected board member of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in 2009 and 2013, becoming the first and only woman in Jordan to be elected for this post since 1923.
