The Report of Wenamun | Complete Audiobook | Ancient Egypt

The Story of Wenamun (alternately known as the Report of Wenamun, The Misadventures of Wenamun, Voyage of Unamūn, or [informally] as just Wenamun) is a literary text written in hieratic in the Late Egyptian language. It is only known from one incomplete copy discovered in 1890 at al-Hibah, Egypt and subsequently purchased in 1891 in Cairo by the Russian Egyptologist Vladimir Goleniščev.  We follow an Ancient Egyptian scribe as he interviews a prisoner of the Sea Peoples that the Egyptians had captured. The character tells him a long and brutal story involving the Hittites, piracy, strange lands, Gods, monsters, battles and peoples. Though believed to be fiction, this story is an important document when studying ancient history, the Late Bronze Age Collapse and the Sea Peoples. This work was made possible by these wonderful people and experts. https://web.archive.org/web/20040814180456/http://www.courses.psu.edu/cams/cams400w_aek11/www/index.htm

Om Podcasten

Hello fellow amateur historians and ancient/medieval scholars!!! My name is Nick Barksdale and like you, I have a passion for ancient and medieval history and so, I created this Podcast / YouTube Channel "The Study of Antiquity and the Middle Ages." The focus of this podcast is history plain and simple and all of the facts and theories that come with it. From academic lectures and to interviews, I want to talk about what we love and hopefully even touch on subjects you haven't even thought about.
