In this episode our special guest Deirra Footman joins us of Let’s Talk Tech:  Deirra discovered her passion for Science and Technology at a young age growing up in Baltimore, Maryland. As a child, she spent her downtime researching how various technologies worked. She always enjoyed taking things apart to figure out how they worked. That curiosity allowed her to build her analytical and problem-solving skills. Deirra’s love for computer technology and thirst for knowledge led her to enroll in the Cisco Network Academy in High School. This opportunity opened the door to the world of Computer Networking and Information Security. Her passion for the field led her to complete additional self-study and excel in the course and landed her an internship with the Baltimore City Public School District in her Senior Year. This internship served as the launchpad for a lucrative career (https://deirrajfootman.com).   Deirra’s Social Media & Links: https://www.ccieby30.com/links 00:08:00 Deirra talks about her experience in her first networking role. 00:23:30 We discuss entry level networking salaries 00:36:00 How to start your networking career 00:47:00 #blacktechtwitter 01:03:00 Entry level people in tech need to relax 01:13:00 Be transparent with future employees and treat the job market like you’re dating. 01:22:00 Black women don’t let that Tech job stress you out My socials: solo.to/techtualconsulting --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
