School-To-Prison Pipeline: Rethinking Zero-Tolerance Discipline

In this episode of the Theory of Change Podcast we expose our listeners to a discussion regarding the school to prison pipeline, which is the label used to describe the issues that exist with school systems utilizing harsh disciplinary policies on students at an early age as they progress through school that eventually causes them be expelled leading to an increased likelihood of coming into contact with the penal system. Shanel Robinson is counselor and doctoral student at Auburn in the CED program. She has a wide range of experiences that include community-based counseling and acute inpatient psychiatric care.
