LJ Parkinson – actor, drag king superstar, queer rights activist – LJ is both a feminist and a masculinist who joins The Three to talk about the three people who have inspired and changed her life for the better. We kick off with Richard O’Brien – the creator of The Rocky Horror show. We hear how this seminal movie expanded her horizons and introduced her to a world of queerness where she found both inner identification and outer inspiration. LJ talks about healing her fractured relationship with men through her fabulous drag king alter-ego – Louis Cyfer. We also hear about how the theatre company Milk Presents inspired a new way of life for LJ – helping her break away from the wild and sometimes dark world of London’s Soho. We touch on topics such as toxic masculinity, substance abuse and trauma – oh and I share with LJ about a secret admirer she never knew she had!
