Dialectical Behavior Therapy, more commonly referred to as DBT, is a evidence-based therapy model developed by Marsha Linehan that was initially developed to treat individuals experiencing intense emotional responses and interpersonal issues, however, has been adapted over years to treat a wide variety issues and populations such as eating disorders, substance use, and working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
