e159. Obviously, it’s the Falcon and the Winter Soldier Show

it’s pretty safe to say Disney has a chokehold on popular culture in America, and to a lesser extent the entire world. Once again, the Powers that Be, as it were, has delivered down unto us yet another installment in the modern epic that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, do we have to talk about it? Of course we do! And so, Mav, Wayne, and Katya welcome returning guests Marcel Walker and Anthony Kingdom James Ruttgaizer to discuss Disney+ and Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Join us as we review the series and deep dive into its effectiveness both at reflecting its central themes of race, class, nationalism, and legacy as well as look into the ways in which the show, and is working to change the current state of the MCU to make it more culturally relevant. Om Podcasten

Vox Populorum is a blog and podcast devoted to pop culture criticism. We believe that the best way to understand culture is to discuss it. But we also believe that it's a lot more fun to have these conversations throwing back a couple beers at the bar rather than in a classroom. Please join our weekly round table of media critics, academics, creators, artists, professors, students and fans for an engaging discussion about movies, novels, comic books, television, video games, music or whatever else we happen to think of! Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.
