e238. Dragons and Rings and Other Fantasy TV

There’s been a lot of Fantasy TV on the air lately. House of the Dragon and Rings of Power have both been airing as prequels to their respective fantasy genres (Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings) and have given fans of Fantasy TV no shortage of things to watch for the last couple months, and they’ve had… “varying depress of success” depending on who you ask. This made us realize that while we’ve talked a bunch about Game of Thrones over the years, we’d never actually devoted a whole episode to the Fantasy TV genre (or the Fantasy genre on its own). This week we fix that. Hannah and Wayne welcome back returning guests Cait Coker and Maximilian to talk about these shows, the novels that spawned them and their fantasy genre in general. Listen and let us know your thoughts. Om Podcasten

Vox Populorum is a blog and podcast devoted to pop culture criticism. We believe that the best way to understand culture is to discuss it. But we also believe that it's a lot more fun to have these conversations throwing back a couple beers at the bar rather than in a classroom. Please join our weekly round table of media critics, academics, creators, artists, professors, students and fans for an engaging discussion about movies, novels, comic books, television, video games, music or whatever else we happen to think of! Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.
