e289. Superman in Cleveland

Did you know it’s Superman’s 85th Anniversary? You might have. Did you know that he was created in Cleveland? Maybe. And if you didn’t know these things, well, it is and he was. And in celebration, the city of Cleveland has been running a series of events for the last several weeks which led up to an academic conference that both Wayne and Mav presented at. So on today’s special show, we bring you the “Bringing Superman Down To Earth” panel featuring two of our co-hosts as well as friend of the show Marcel Walker and our new friend Travis Smith to talk about Superman’s influence on and influence by human culture. Listen and let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Om Podcasten

Vox Populorum is a blog and podcast devoted to pop culture criticism. We believe that the best way to understand culture is to discuss it. But we also believe that it's a lot more fun to have these conversations throwing back a couple beers at the bar rather than in a classroom. Please join our weekly round table of media critics, academics, creators, artists, professors, students and fans for an engaging discussion about movies, novels, comic books, television, video games, music or whatever else we happen to think of! Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.
