e373. Collecting Value. Understanding Valuation in Popular Culture

Do you have a collection of anything? Comics? Toys? Baseball cards? Records? Whatever? Ok, if you have such a collection, do you know what it’s worth. That is to say if it was destroyed in a fire or some other disaster would you know what to value it at for the insurance claim? Well, Wayne actually spent the past few years working as an expert witness on a court case about exactly this, and it got us thinking about the concept of “how do we define values for collectibles anyway?” So on this episode, Wayne and Mav are joined by returning guest Mark Schultis to talk about just that. How do we value our collectibles, both financially and personally? Listen and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Om Podcasten

Vox Populorum is a blog and podcast devoted to pop culture criticism. We believe that the best way to understand culture is to discuss it. But we also believe that it's a lot more fun to have these conversations throwing back a couple beers at the bar rather than in a classroom. Please join our weekly round table of media critics, academics, creators, artists, professors, students and fans for an engaging discussion about movies, novels, comic books, television, video games, music or whatever else we happen to think of! Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.
