58: “Judge, Jury, Executioner” (S2E11)

Alas, poor Dale! We really didn't know you all that well. We're joined this week by artist Danny Miller to talk about the beautifully disgusting Walking Dead zombie posters he created, commissioned by Greg Nicotero. Then we give you our thoughts on Dale's swan song episode and dig into your emails (some particularly fantastic top fives from you guys this week, by the way).

But that's not all! This week we give a full review of Smart Pop's book of in-depth, entertaining, and illuminating essays, Triumph of the Walking Dead, and we bequeath a copy to a lucky member of the live chat.

Finally, we're announcing a new contest this week. It's Best Zombie Sound, Round Two. Winner gets a full set of Danny Miller's limited edition, screen printed zombie posters, including big fat well zombie, gangly RV zombie, and Dale-killing bearded zombie. See our Contests page f
or more info on how you can win.

And as always, if you'd like to leave us a message, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD or email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com.

Om Podcasten

Fans of The Walking Dead know it's so much more than a zombie show. It's an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we'd go through to protect the people we care about. That's what's kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.) I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with my current co-host, the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City. Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more. And the most fun and fulfilling part of all this has absolutely been interacting with you guys and making it a conversation. So write in, send a voice message, and be part of it!
