TWR Listeners Lounge - Curtis Bloes

In this episode, hosts Alan and Walt chat with photographer and podcaster, Curtis Bloes about his career and hobby. Although stumbling across photography by accident, Curtis admits, he didn't really have a knack for it. The work was difficult, but he loves what he does. He has learned from others along the way. Though specializing in boudoir sessions, Curtis does other photography as well. He is also quick to help others who are wanting to learn. As a side hobby, Curtis Bloes has always seemed ready for the world of podcasting. He takes us through his earliest versions, putting out shows on cassette before burning CDs and now online. Curtis is also a part of the Movies-by-Minutes podcasters, who love to break down a movie, one minute of the film at a time. He has worked on many shows and is currently working on The Time Bandit Minute for a 2022 release. As the interview winds down, we move to the movie our Listeners Group on Facebook chose for Walt to review. In yet another new low, even Walt was in the depths of despair over this week's selection. Then they discussed a few crazy news items before wrapping up with the entertainment segment. WATCHING Walt just finished watching WandaVision and loved it. He is currently watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and is thus far enjoying it as well. He also mentions Saving Private Ryan is on Netflix to watch. Curtis watched episodes of ABCD:TOS podcast, where a group of sci-fi aficionados is breaking down classic Trek episodes in alphabetical order. Not meaning to be ironic, he also watched the 80's flick, The Falcon and the Snowman and says it still holds up to this day. Finally, he wrapped up watching, Twin Peaks: The Return. Alan is onto season 2 of Star Trek: TOS. He also is watching the Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. READING Walt is continuing to work his way through, "Running with the Devil," a book he will likely never finish due to his ADD tendencies. Alan, researching material for a different podcast, digested, "10 Tips for Dealing with In-Laws." Curtis recommends, "Bone China Mausoleum," by Ann O'Dell. He also likes the series of books called, "B&G Detective Agency," by R.L. Link. Finally, he is readying Ernest Clines, "Ready Player Two." LISTENING Walt suggests Office Space Minute and Radio Labyrinth podcasts. Curtis suggests This Means Something podcast about the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind. He also likes TWIV (This Week in Virology) podcast. And, for a change of pace from streaming non-stop Slayer tunes, Curtis has moved toward chill 90's alternative. He said his wife is very happy for the change. Alan said that thanks to the YouTube channels, The Daily Doug and The Charismatic Voice, he has discovered the symphonic metal band, Nightwish. He loves them and has been streaming their discography over the last week. By the way, the Daily Doug is hosted by Doug Helvering, who will be a guest in the Listeners Lounge soon. And, The Charismatic voice is hosted by Elizabeth Zharoff. Alan has reached out to her as well, but nothing has been confirmed.
