Barbara Barnes

Barbara Barnes was just 13 when she disappeared on the morning of December 7th, 1995, as she was walking to school in Steubenville, Ohio. Her body was found in a shallow grave by the side of a creek two months later. Despite intensive efforts by law enforcement, no one was ever charged with her murder, and her case remains unsolved and cold after 25 years.  Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the case of the murder of Barbara Barnes. Police initially looked hard at a member of Barbara's family because her body was found 40 miles outside of town but just about a mile from a parcel of land owned by this family member. There have been many that have tied an ex-con named Richard Kolling to Barbara's murder. Kolling was in the area at the time and knew many members of Barbara's family. He also lived close to her apartment. There have been allegations that he sexually assaulted Barbara's younger sister and silenced Barbara when she found out.
