49: Morgan Wright & Steve Murphy

This week, Bob interviews the hosts of the “Game of Crimes” podcast, Morgan Wright and Steve Murphy. Together, Morgan, an experienced state trooper and detective, and Steve, a DEA Special Agent, cover notorious cases, often interviewing those directly involved. In this episode, the guys give Bob a hard time about being a firefighter, share stories involving tragic coffee accidents on the job, and discuss common issues related to police interrogations. They also cover the takedown of notorious drug lord and narcoterrorist Pablo Escobar, and Steve’s involvement in the case as lead investigator. Pablo Escobar founded and led the Medellin Cartel in Colombia. Throughout the 1980s, he and his cartel essentially created the demand for cocaine in the United States, establishing the first smuggling routes from Colombia and raking in billions of dollars. Pablo Escobar is also responsible for a shocking number of deaths, turning Colombia into the murder capital of the world. Morgan and Steve dispel many of the myths surrounding Escobar and shed light on just who the world’s first narcoterrorist truly was – a violent and evil man.
