Keeping Quiet Keeps the Peace

I was taught that keeping quiet kept the peace until I realized whose peace is it keeping? After voicing my opinion in a video last week, I received a few comments that read, "I used to like you, but now I need to unfollow." My first reaction was to laugh it off, but as I sat with it, I felt as if I did something wrong. I knew I stood behind what I said in that video, I was proud of myself for voicing how I felt, but I still felt as if I made a mistake by posting it because it upset a few of my followers. This isn't the first time I've felt shame for speaking my mind and truth.  There has been multiple times in my life where I have defended myself, stood up for others, or even just shared an opinion, just to be told that I was starting drama or fueling a fire. I have tried to bite my tongue and stay silent to avoid being called an instigator or drama queen but in doing that, it has also caused me pain.
