U n' I with Rashmi Shetty- Dr. G.N Sangeetha

In our Amazing Women Series, all through this month, our second guest is Dr. G.N Sangeetha. The only candidate selected from India by an Organization named SIGHTSAVERS (Royal Commonwealth Society for the Blind) to participate in the 40th Anniversary Celebrations in Britain in 1990. There she had the unique opportunity of meeting Queen Elizabeth a memorable event in her life. Author of 5 books: “Women’s Organisations in Modern Era” “The Empowerment of Visually impaired women through a solution of their socio-psychological problems” “Economic Empowerment of Visually Impaired Women” Hands Beyond Horizon Kannada Book “Hosa Mailigallannu Daatuthiruva Naariyaru” Her TEDx Talk was on the subject “Providing ID card (smartcard) to differently-abled people” Dr. Sangeetha is the First Blind Woman to have received a Doctorate in the State of Karnataka. Winner of multiple awards, some of Sangeetha’s awards are: Winner of the  Governor’s Republic Day Award Kempegowda Award for writing a book titled “Empowerment of Visually impaired Women”. Felicitation by Government of Karnataka as the Best Physically Challenged Women on 04.01.2009.
