Omsk Social Club on Real Game Play methodology and politics, ending worlds, and educational potential of role-play

In this episode we reconnect with the world of ARIA in anticipation of its upcoming edition and sit down with Omsk Social Club, a sprawling artistic collective operating from between two lived worlds, one of life as we know it and the other of role play as a medium, to talk about their artistic practice, engagement with roleplay and personal take on the methodology as well as the inspirations that went into developing the Worlds’ End Hackathon, a Real Game Play they designed and will facilitate for ARIA this summer. Episode is hosted by Tjaša Pogačar and Brandon Rosenbluth.  ARIA - Algorithmic Ideation Assembly, is a week-long summer school that unfolds through a fiction-theory narrative to explore new possibilities for our world in a time of a changing planetary ecology. The second edition of ARIA taking place from 17 - 23 August is dedicated to spectrality and the ends of worlds, exploring rituals for mourning and ways of interfacing with the specters of the (deep) past and future haunting our ecologically fragile planet.
