Identifying The Underlying Worldview That Animates Secularism | Guest: Nancy Pearcey

Nancy Pearcey is the author of Love Thy Body: Answering Hard Questions about Life and Sexuality, as well as The Soul of Science, Saving Leonardo, Finding Truth, and Total Truth. She is professor and scholar in residence at Houston Baptist University and has been highlighted as one of the five top women apologists by Christianity Today, and hailed in The Economist as "America's pre-eminent evangelical Protestant female intellectual." Nancy Pearcey joins the show today to discuss her book Love Thy Body and the foundational religious premise that animates secular progressivism today. What has come to be called body-self dualism or the fact-value split, Nancy explains how this religious worldview drives every forward movement of the secular moral revolution. Rather than dealing in bits and pieces with these culture war issues, Nancy argues we must identify the underlying worldview behind it all if we’re going to be effective. While secularism offers a hatred and dismissal of our bodies as the result of mindless, purposeless forces, Christianity offers a high view of our bodies as intrinsically valuable with a purpose. Seth and Nancy discuss the consequences of this key feature of “progressivism” and why separating our rights from our human nature ends in disaster and despair. And lastly, Nancy leaves us with positive ways to argue for the Christian view of the body against the culture of death and their assault on the Imago Dei.  Date: 09/09/22 To help UnAborted create more pro-life content and take our content to the streets, become a Patron of the show at https://www.patreon.com/unaborted To help Seth educate and expose culture to the evil of abortion so that every person has a right to be born, become an ALLY of The White Rose Resistance at https://thewhiterose.life
