Kate Tracey and Alan McInally sat down with Darius in the Players’ Lounge at Bodymoor Heath where he spoke about growing up within a stone's throw of Villa Park and fulfilling his dream of playing for the club. He spoke about the incredibly influential role the late Sven-Göran Eriksson played in his career; working with him at Manchester City, bringing Darius back from Turkey with Leicester City, and of course handing him his England debut. We also heard how he coped with the heartbreak and mental toll of missing a decisive penalty, sending England home from Euro 2004.
