We chat about the social norms and the cultural context around self care and the martyrdom that often comes with motherhood. In our village we strive to be equal and inclusive, and we also want to acknowledge spaces where there is social programming and certain cultural norms and this is one of those. Self care in parenthood is so important. And there needs to be specific discussions on what this looks like in motherhood.
