She came to Darwin from the Central Coast of NSW to study migratory shorebirds. Amanda established the BirdLife Top End branch in Darwin in 2018 (along with a team of enthusiastic birders) and then kicked off the Our Top End Birds campaign, where the community voted the Bush Stone-curlew as the top bird of the Top End.
