Douglas had a very troubled youth. At the age of 13, cutting became his relief from suffering. He soon added the alluring world of drugs for relief, and that gave him a form of courage that felt good. Then, while at a treatment center for his various addictions, he had a realization about thought and who he really is. Douglas saw that underneath the facade and layers we create, the soft, pure light of unconditional love is always there.
