Trump Gets Merrick-Rolled

Attorney General Merrick Garland made an unexpected announcement yesterday to address the FBI search for confidential documents at Donald Trump’s home at Mar-A-Lago. The Washington Post reports some of those documents involve nuclear weapons. Because of increasing online and in-person threats to FBI officials, Garland went to great lengths to emphasize that the search was in the public interest and not politically motivated. The House is expected to vote on the Inflation Reduction Act today. It includes the largest burst of spending in U.S. history to specifically tackle climate change. And a new report backs up that action is needed now. It says warming of the Arctic is happening much faster than previously described. And in headlines: the CDC says you no longer have to quarantine after COVID exposure, Disney+ will debut an ad-supported option, and there’s a new dating app for right-wingers.
