S3E10 with Miki Berenyi
What Goes Around? So much! Today we are joined by an indie legend whose music proved as ethereal and inventive as it was catchy and intelligent. Miki Berenyi is the founder member of the iconic 4AD band Lush, she is a singer and songwriter famed for mixing together incredible soundscapes with catchy melodies. Their sound evolved from the art house of shoe gaze to the stadium sized bravado of Brit Pop but their aesthetic was always much more interesting than any label they were saddled with. Miki has now written a book about her life and times in Lush and beyond. It's a lot more than a standard name dropping reminiscence and speaks honestly and openly about the sometimes tragic events and emotions that shaped her life. Before we talk to Miki we chat to Jeanie Finley about her amazing music themed documentaries like Goth Cruise! We also discuss HOT music and the Montreux jazz festival's extortionate sandwich pricing. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
