Younger people often have a naive outlook on commitment, especially when it comes to marriage, when in reality, the divorce rate in the US is still hovering at the 50% mark. In midlife years, our childrearing is (usually) complete, many have lived through a divorce, and they’re approaching life – and commitment – with different eyes.
