Ep. 62. / Nobel wines from a Baron (Longo)
Anton Longo is a motivated young man who took over historic vineyards to produce world class wines in Alto Adige. During our hours long visit I´ve had the impression that this gentleman has well-defined goals with his wines, with his line-up and he wants his Baron Longo label to be among the bests in the world. In my humble opinion, he deserves our attention as he is on a good path to leave a mark on his region. We've talked about his favourite variety, we drank his flagship and painfully limited wines. At the end of the tasting, I even started to like Lagrein… Unfortunately, you can hear my mechanical watch ticking in the background (till 3:46), which I’ve tried to cover with some pleasant tones probably with only mild success. I promise that I won’t wear it again for a recording. at 12:03 - I've said Chardonnay for the cuvée Liebenstein (Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc), I'm sorry for the possible confusion. (and for the swearing, but it is REALLY TASTY!)
