WHU 107: Why riding the “line of fine” never gets you to fulfill your life’s purpose. With Meghan Walker.

When I asked my business coach, Meghan Walker to come on the podcast, I thought we’d talk about the broken health care system. I thought we’d talk about how expensive it is to run health care, and why we need an overhaul in the way we work with patients. This is what she has helped me understand and has helped us birth programs such as The Wild Collective and The Fundamentals of Macronutrients and my clinician program The Confident Clinician Club. Except that’s not exactly what we talked about. Because without understanding your purpose, none of those things will really matter to you.  You won’t consider a group program for your health if you don’t have a reason to feel well. If you don’t feel connected to your happiness and your life’s work then you won’t see the return on investment of being less tired.  So this is actually a conversation about purpose. And why you need one. STAT. People without purposes are just people emptying dishwashers and commuting to work. People with a purpose are inspired to take care of themselves, and each other. They are those who take health care offerings by the horns and help themselves get better.  This episode will leave you rethinking your life’s work (and we don’t mean the paper-pushing kind of work) and your health. It will help you think differently about where your values lie and make you question where all of your time is going.  Enjoy. It’s a good one. This episode is brought to you by our new Fundamentals of Macronutrient Tracking course with our Nutritionist Carissa Stewart here at Clarity Health. Our 4-week introductory course moves people from being overwhelmed by their nutrition to feeling confident in the choices they are making. We know successful nutrition requires learning and accountability. You’ll get a hefty dose of both in this online program. Registration is open and classes start November 15. Join us here. Welcome to Real Integrative Medicine, where we break down the barriers between evidence and integrative practice. Hosted by Dr. Jordan Robertson, ND, our mission is to empower both patients and clinicians to make confident, evidence-informed decisions with integrative medicine. What's real? What does evidence mean? How should research change our day-to-day health choices? The show will cover the intersection between health, habit change and mindset to help you make confident and science-backed decisions in your health care. The podcast is the sister to our Youtube channel, Real Integrative Medicine, which is geared towards practitioners who want to make evidence-informed recommendations for their patients, without having to dig into the research themselves.
