WHU 93: Breast cancer. From prevention to thriving in survivorship.

Dr. Ashley Chauvin’s career as a Naturopathic Doctor started a little differently than most practitioners. In Radiation Therapy training to support patients with Cancer. It was after witnessing the “gradation” and now you’re done philosophy of cancer care and the long lag times between patient interactions that she realized there had to be a better way to support patients to thrive after a diagnosis of cancer. In this episode we talk about breast cancer prevention and the simple things that can be added to your lifestyle and health plan that change cancer risk. We also talk about the “thriving in survivorship” mantra that Ashley teaches her patients and talk about everything from myths online to side effect management in breast cancer care. Ashley is one of my brilliant colleagues at Clarity Health serving people before, during and after a cancer diagnosis to live their healthiest life. She can be reached at Clarity Health to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to determine if she can support your particular needs and to ask your questions about your cancer journey.

Welcome to Real Integrative Medicine, where we break down the barriers between evidence and integrative practice. Hosted by Dr. Jordan Robertson, ND, our mission is to empower both patients and clinicians to make confident, evidence-informed decisions with integrative medicine. What's real? What does evidence mean? How should research change our day-to-day health choices? The show will cover the intersection between health, habit change and mindset to help you make confident and science-backed decisions in your health care. The podcast is the sister to our Youtube channel, Real Integrative Medicine, which is geared towards practitioners who want to make evidence-informed recommendations for their patients, without having to dig into the research themselves.
