Christina Pagel is a mathematician and Professor of Operational Research at University College, London. The first female director of the Clinical Operational Research Unit at UCL and an honorary researcher at Great Ormond Street Hospital, she has been one of the most prominent scientists in the media during the pandemic. At the start of the pandemic, she had 1500 Twitter followers. She now has nearly 150,000.
