Workplace incivility is one of those things that many have experienced or witnessed, most can identify, but can be difficult to define.  Wikipedia defines work incivility as “low-intensity deviant behavior with ambiguous intent to harm the target.” Furthermore, it’s labeled as uncivil behaviors (that) are characteristically rude and discourteous, displaying a lack of regard for others. Workplace incivility is not only unpleasant, it’s also costly. The good news is that there are things that both organizations and individuals can do to discourage and decrease the occurrence of this kind of conduct.
