TikTok Is Struggling to Wall-Off U.S. User Data

In an effort to assure American lawmakers, social media platform TikTok promised to start keeping data from U.S. users separate from the company’s China-based parent, ByteDance. The stand-alone unit that oversees American data is code-named Project Texas. But we exclusively report that so far, TikTok has struggled to fulfill those promises.
