Soulbriety + Healing Trauma with Dr. Elisa Hallerman

The increase in addiction and suicide rates in adolescence and adults has become an epidemic, so it is essential that we be educated on what to look for and how to treat and navigate the overwhelming landscape of addiction. Dr. Elisa Hallerman studied Depth Psychology and Somatic Studies, focusing on neuroscience and trauma. She also is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine, a drug and alcohol counselor, and certified in yogic science for addictive behavior. She's also an attorney and a visiting professor in film and media arts at Chapman University. In this episode, Dr. Elisa Hallerman explores how to recognize adverse childhood experiences and trauma, which if unhealed, are often at the core of most adult addiction and alcoholism. She also touches on the basic neuroscience behind the brain disease of addiction, how one may best intervene with a loved one, what trauma means, how to spot & treat it, and more. No matter what your experience is in this field, I believe everyone can pocket several nuggets from this episode. Enjoy Elisa's magic!
