"He only made affliction come at the hands of people so that you do not repose in them. He wanted to drive you of everything so that nothing would divert you from Him." Hikam 235 Page 207 The Shaykh discusses two main ways of getting through difficulties: The first, to accept that they will be part and parcel of life and inevitable. Secondly, as mentioned in the above aphorism, to know that there is a wisdom and purpose behind the affliction.
